The Lahore High Court issued notice to Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan for January 25, in a petition filed by the Federation of Pakistan praying to restrain him from moving around and meeting people without security clearance. The Federation has also prayed that Dr Qadeer be prevented from giving interviews.

The Federation in its petition contended that some sensitive disclosures have been claimed about Pakistan's nuclear programme and its alleged connection with other countries in some foreign papers. All disclosures made by authors in articles published in foreign papers have made Dr Qadeer source of the information, and Dr Qadeer has not properly denied this communication.

The court has also been requested to permit investigation into the claims by the authors of foreign papers, and Dr Qadeer be called upon either to admit or deny the claims made by the foreign papers that he has been providing information to journalist Simon Hendereson.
